Kiyana and Matthew first met on October 21, 2022, but it was really fate that brought them together.

It all began eight years ago, when Kiyana, a freshman at UT Dallas, stepped into an elevator on her way to chemistry class. In this elevator, she met Anthony (not the groom, but stay with us, this is important!). Kiyana and Anthony became instant friends. Soon after, Kiyana was introduced to Anthony's then-boyfriend and current fiancé, Andrew. Fast-forward through the years, and Andrew would become one of Kiyana’s closest friends as well.

Now, enter Matthew—Andrew’s coworker and our future groom. On October 21, 2022, fate played a little matchmaker at Andrew’s 24th birthday party. Kiyana and Matthew, who had never met before, found themselves seated next to each other at the dinner table. From the moment Matthew introduced himself with the intention of getting to know Kiyana, she couldn’t help but be charmed. With a playful response and her signature laugh, she managed to capture Matthew’s heart almost instantly.

As the evening wore on, their conversation flowed as effortlessly as a classic love story. Kiyana was quickly smitten by Matthew’s kindness, his gentlemanly nature, and let’s be honest, his impressive height! By the end of the night, their connection was undeniable, and a first date was set for just a few days later.

October 25, 2022, marked the start of what has truly felt like a dream come true for them both. Their bond deepened, and their love blossomed into something that feels like it was plucked from the pages of a romance novel. On May 25, 2024, Matthew got down on one knee and proposed in a moment filled with happy tears and heartfelt sobs, as Kiyana joyously exclaimed “YES!”.

Every day since that magical first date has been a testament to their fairytale romance. As they prepare to marry on April 5, 2025, they are overjoyed to share this chapter of their story with all of you. Their love story is their greatest adventure, and they can’t wait to continue it together, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
